Summer Data Immersion Program FAQs
Who can apply to the Summer Data Immersion (SDI) program?
Investigators at all levels—including graduate students, postdoctoral scholars, junior faculty, and senior faculty—are welcome to apply.
Do I need to book my own accommodations if accepted?
Participants must arrange their own transportation to and from Ann Arbor. Lodging does not need to be booked independently—rooms will be reserved by MCCFAD.
Can previous SDI participants apply again?
Yes. Past participants may apply to future SDI programs.
How will I be notified of my application decision?
All applicants will receive an email notification once decisions are finalized.
Can I submit a late application?
No. Late applications cannot be accepted. All required materials must be submitted by the published deadline.
Is there a cost to participate in the program?
Limited funds are available to support select participants’ lodging and travel (up to a capped amount). Applicants may indicate whether they require financial assistance in their application.
Is there a virtual option for participating in the program?
No. At this time, the SDI program is offered exclusively in person in Ann Arbor.
Do I need to have quantitative analysis expertise?
We take all levels of experience, however, there should be some interest in health disparities research and some level of content expertise either in health disparities research or have a strong background statistics.
