Arab-American Community Advisory Board

Two Community Advisory Boards (CAB) represent the communities with which MCCFAD engages. One CAB is comprised of the Middle Eastern/Arab American community in metro-Detroit, and one CAB represents the Latino community in Grand Rapids. They  include older adults, family members who care for a relative with dementia, community leaders and community health professionals living in the geographic area of each community.  MCCFAD encourages an active role for community members through the CAB, including advising on the integration of results into practice; the development of culturally sensitive measures; ensuring respect for the values, culture and social practices of each community; and ensuring the community benefits from the research.
