Administrative Core

The Administrative Core (AC) of MCCFAD will direct Center activities under recognized leaders in the areas of minority aging, Kristine Ajrouch, PhD and Toni Antonucci, PhD, who combined have 75 years of administration experience and documented success in mentoring investigators from underrepresented backgrounds. The Administrative Core oversees all aspects of the Program. It directs, manages, supports and provides oversight to program and represents the MCCFAD to the university, the community, professionals and NIA. It will coordinate the infrastructure, networks and individuals necessary to promote Alzheimer’s Disease and Related Dementias (ADRD) health disparities research through mentoring, education, and community outreach. In order to connect with African American, Arab American and Latino communities to broaden understanding of intra- and inter-cultural factors affecting participation in ADRD research, AC will meet with community representatives and facilitate links to Center activities. It will coordinate activities and maintain communication through the five specific aims:

• Ensure integration and coordination of all MCCFAD activities through effective interactions, communication, and information flow.
• Leverage existing resources at the University of Michigan and partner institutions to enable unique linkages for collaborative mentoring and research.
• Provide oversight and support for the solicitation and selection of pilot projects for funding and for the recruitment of scientists.
• Build and sustain community partnerships.
• Ensure organizational and fiscal integrity, program effectiveness, and compliance with all relevant rules, regulations, and ethical principles.
