Community Liaison and Recruitment Core

  • In order to advance ADRD-relevant disparities research in epidemiology, health economics and culturally-sensitive care, the Community Liason and Recruitment Core (CLRC) will develop new and maintain existing community relations to improve community and culturally sensitive research and increase the research participation of the targeted underserved groups.
  • In order to recruit and mentor 15 Research Scientists (RS) from the Alzheimer's sector of the Resource Centers for Minority Aging (RCMAR) through professional publications and independent research applications and funding, CLRC will provide guidance on recruitment and retention of hard-to-reach populations.
  • In order to connect with African American, Arab American and Latino communities to broaden understanding of intra- and inter-cultural factors affecting participation in ADRD research, CLRC will organize community health education events and create Participant Registry Pools (PRP) comprised of Arab Americans and Latinos similar to MADCC’s existing African American PRP.
